China Northwest Building Design Research Institue, founded in Jun.1,1952, is one of the 6 national-key Grade A architectural design institutes for big regions as the early stage after liberation. It has been successively directed by National Ministry of Construction Engineering, National Committee of Construction, National Bureau General of Construction Engineering and China State Construction & Engineering Corporation.

Our institute incorporates the specialties including general drawing, construction, structure, water supply & drainage, refrigerating, dynamics, electrics and auto-control, technical economy and estimation & budget, etc. and is able to undertake all kinds of large and middle scale industrial and civil architectural design. It features outstanding advantages in the respects such as various kinds of large-scale public buildings design, high-rise & super-high-rise design, large-scale residential quarter planning and design, traditional construction and design, etc. The institute has 9 designing stations and one technology & economy station, branch institutes in Shanghai, Xiamen and Shenzhen and comprehensive units including technical consultation company, construction electrics institute, supervisor company, real estate company, etc. In the past half century, we've accomplished around 4000items of engineering design, some 100 standard design projects, some 600 research and business construction projects, above projects covers 30 provinces and cities of the countries and 24 foreign countries and regions.

Focusing on technical innovation, we implement strict technical quality management and has won ISO9001：1994 and ISO9001：000 quality management system authentication certificate respectively in 1998 and 2001. Since 1980, we've won some 150 national and provincial prizes for excellent design, 18 national patents and over 50 national and provincial technical advancement prizes. Moreover, we enjoy remarkable strength in computer engineering applications, informatization and technical information. LAN is established and a 100% CAD drawing rate is kept. The library collects a lot of books, journals and technical information.

With high reputation in world architectural circle，we've established business relationship, communication and cooperation with the architectural circles of some 30 countries and regions such as US, UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Poland, Singapore and Hongkong. Basing on human construction combining management and cultural cultivation, we've made good achievements in the construction of both material and spiritual civilization. We've been appraised as "China Top100 Enterprise in the Comprehensive Power of Investigation & Design" in 1993. It won the honor of "Excellent Enterprise in Political Works of CSCEC" in 1996 and 2000. "Advanced Unit of National Construction System in Spiritual Civilization Works" in 1997,1999， "Provincial Civilization Unit" of 1998，"Advanced Group in National Information Works Appraisement" in 2000，"National Demo Unit in CAD Application" in 2001, "Top10" Enterprise of CSCEC in 2003.
